It has been a very crazy few months. Done with my first semester of college, I pulled a 3.5GPA. I was very happy with the end result and my hard work paid off.

For christmas, I received a brand new computer and monitor. Quad core, 8GB memory, 1GB video card, and 24" monitor, among other things will prove to be useful in the future.

The most exciting news comes now, however. Last post I mentioned that i had been a nominee for the 2009 Davey Awards. I am now the Silver Winner for the 2009 Davey Awards (I found out only today) for print media. It is an incredible accomplishment, and an incredible feeling. Once again, I would like to thanks Suzi for her great personality, and her patience with me. I really owe this to her!

Light On

Sitting in a dorm room on a cold, rainy day does several things. It makes me very tired, more tired than usual at least, being that I'm always tired. It makes me feel a little homesick, and last (and most importantly at this time), it prevents me from doing homework that I need to do outside. I need to draw trees and grass and nature. None of that exists from outside my window, being that Purchase College is somewhat famous for being built entirely from brick.

That aside, I am busy with many projects. Ones for my art classes (I'm going to be a BFA with a concentration in graphic design), my papers for my college writing class, my personal fictional stories, my own drawings that are not related to school, and a new webcomic written by the wonderful Bob Francis, and illustrated by me. It's a cute little story, but once again he's waiting on me for the illustrations. Perhaps once I get my new Windows 7 (that doesn't lag like the one I'm using now), Photoshop and thumbing out the pages will be a little easier.

On a more exciting note, I am nominated for the 2009 Davey Awards. The winner will be announced at the end of the month. It would be wonderful to win, but at the same time it does not matter if I don't. I feel honored just to be nominated at such a "young age", and without any college experience to back it up. I would just like to take this moment to thank the person who nominated me, my Graphic Design mentor, Suzi. Thank you very much, Suzi!

Life in the Fast Lane

Well, as you may or may not have noticed. There is still only one page of Sonata of Charlie Gold. Still my fault, my lack of motivation, my lack of ability, problems here and there, whatever the excuse may be. And it may be a while before I do update. I'm flying towards a very important time in my life and its coming much faster than I can handle. So I'm taking everything as it comes, handling each individual thing all at once and each thing separately at the same time. It's a whirlpool of a life.

But I still manage to pop out artwork, or at least ideas for artwork and writing pieces at the same rate the octomom pops out babies.

So, keep up with me here, there, anywhere. With a fox, in a box, in a house with a mouse. You decide.

Delays :: Heat of the Moment

Well, I apologize for the [ongoing] delays for everything Charlie Gold related. Art blocks suck, especially when it's something I committed to. I'm just very frustrated with all the thumbnail...well, only the first panel! and nothing just turns out the way I want. It's very bothersome. All I can do is draw cars right now...and maybe a couple people not Charlie Gold related. F***!!!!

So art block = crap and no idea how long it will last.

I'm new at blogging, but fear not. I learn quickly.

I'm here to advertise a comic between fellow blogger, Bob Francis, and myself, as well as his comic "Original Sin".

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but only started calling myself an artist a couple of years ago. I am merely an amateur, but hope to take whatever skill and talent I have to higher limits as I progress and improve through the years.
